I’m interested in information regarding my 4 year old son and how i can facilitate his learning ie. new ideas, other personal experiences, what’s worked for others. My six year old daughter has just started school and loves it! However, having that extra year with her at home was really beneficial and although she ‘s really enjoying her new journey. Her brother learns differently, and i ‘d just like to talk to other parents with young boys and hear of their experiences.

Just thought I’d pass on this information to you to share with your local chapter…..

Planning for this is underway already as camp facilities get booked up quickly, often a year or more in advance.

The 2010 camp will be October 18-22 at the Peter Snell Village Camp in Whangapaoroa, 45 minutes north of Auckland central.

The camp can accommodate up to 87 people in bunk rooms and is a fully catered camp. All homeschooling families are welcome.

    Accommodation costs are…

    $35 for adults,
    $32 for teens aged 14-18yrs,
    $30 for children aged 3-13yrs
Children under 3 years are free.

There is a further $13 per school aged child to pay for the activity program and use of equipment for this while at camp.

We can only take a maximum of 87 people and spaces are filling fast. The camps policy states that we need to confirm our booking with a deposit of $750 by mid January.

If you want to register your family for this camp you will be required to pay a $100 deposit by 15th January 2010 with the balance due on July 1st 2010.

Your space will not be confirmed until I have received confirmation of your deposit.

Rooms are assigned on a first come first served basis although special requests will be considered from people who pay their deposit promptly. The sooner you get your deposit to me the sooner I can confirm your place and assign you a room.

If you would like to join us for this camp please contact me ASAP.

Hi there, Im just wondering if there are any people that are interested in children playdates. I have a 15month old a 3 1/2 yo and a 5 year old. The 2 old girls are homeschooled and lack in the friends department due to not foing to kindy or having much other children their age in our family. We live in the waiuku area but also travel to pukekohe and manurewa once a week as well. If anyone is interested please email me at pickeringschool@yahoo.com.
